Are Holidays Specialist members of ABTA?

How do I pay for my holiday?
When making a telephone reservation you will need to have a current
debit, credit or charge card. We are happy to accept the following
Debit cards:

The debit will be automatically deducted from your bank account
(no handling fee will be levied).
We can also offer the facility of paying for your holiday by credit
/ charge card. We accept the following:

Please note that our usual surcharge of 3% will be applied to all
credit / charge card transactions, please ask for full details.
Holiday Money – What should I take?
Try to take a mixture of local currency and travellers cheques.
Take the majority in travellers cheques as these are insured against
loss or theft, with the remainder, enough for the first day or so,
in local currency.
Where is the best place to exchange travellers cheques abroad?
Avoid changing travellers cheques at your accommodation as commission
charges are often higher than at a local bank. Local banks have
varying opening hours and are certainly different from the UK. In
hot countries do not expect banks to the open in the afternoon as
they often close for siesta.
Do I need to take out Travel Insurance?
Holiday Insurance is the most important item to take with you when
you travel. Make sure you are fully covered with a reputable company
and don’t forget to pack your policy in your hand luggage.
Do I need a passport?
Whenever you leave the UK you must carry a passport with you but
do please check that your passport is in date – it is a requirement
of certain countries that the expiry date of your passport exceeds
the return date of travel by up to 6 months. Requirements vary from
country to country. You should also ensure that any children under
the age of 16 who are not already included on a valid 10 year passport,
have their own passport when travelling abroad.
What do I do if I have a complaint in resort?
Always make sure that your hotel/accommodation Manager or tour operator
representative is aware of the problem straight away. Give them
the opportunity to put things right. Clearly explain your problem
and how and when you expect it to be resolved. If the situation
is not resolved to your satisfaction, ask your tour operator representative
to assist you in completing a complaint form. If you wish to pursue
the matter, then contact Holidays Specialist within 28 days of
your return and we will deal with the complaint on your behalf.
Are flights restricted during pregnancy?
Some airlines refuse to accept passengers who are more than 28 weeks
pregnant. Please check this detail with your Holidays Specialist
consultant BEFORE making your holiday booking.
How can I find out about the weather at my chosen resort?
Your Holidays Specialist consultant can provide you with the
weather pattern at your chosen resort, as can this website. Many
tour operators now provide this information in their brochures.
Will I need vaccinations?
It is recommended by various countries that vaccinations are carried
out prior to travelling. Either you own Doctor or your Holidays Specialist consultant can provide you with up to date advice about vaccinations.
Where can I book Disney Passes?
The US Theme Parks are much more fun and much less money if you
pre-buy your attraction passes before you travel. It will also save
time queuing at ticket offices and paying full price, if you book
passes with us before you go.
Where can I book my Car Hire?
Car Hire is an excellent way to discover the heart of many countries.
Taking you away from the hustle and bustle of resorts to desolated
beaches, local markets and countryside wilderness. It also saves
a lot of time and effort for you to book your car hire before you

How do I call the UK from abroad?
If dialling from outside the UK, you’ll need the local international
access code followed by 44 for the UK. You then dial the UK number
as if it were a long distance call ie including the area code, but
do not dial the initial “O”.
